Must-see

In the town center

Un centre ville où il fait bon flâner , notre centre ancien regorge de petits trésors à chaque coin de rue.

1.

Fontaine Moussue (mossy fountain)

On Place Crousillat

The Fontaine Moussue is the town’s mascot and dates back to the 16th century. It was a popular place for locals to walk and meet up by the cooling fountain. Place des Arbres (tree square) is now called Place Crousillat in tribute to Salon’s famous Félibre poet.

Info: This vista is easy for everyone to reach!

2.

The tower and Rue de l’Horloge

The clock gate stands where the old town’s northern gate once stood and is the boundary between the modern town and old town. It was built in the 17th century with a Roland bell tower on top.

Rue de l’Horloge is an unmissable high street in the old town.

3.

Château de l’Empéri

The Arles Archbishops wanted to establish their power and built a fortified position on Puech Rock deep in the Crau Plain and sheltered by the Alpilles in the 10th century.

4.

Rooftop views

Does this view ring a bell? It should because it’s what everyone thinks of when they think of Salon-de-Provence. Magical isn’t it?

Unobstructed views of the old town and its traditional Provençal lanes.
